Julia serves as a Communications Assistant on the Media Relations team at Independent Women, where she works to expand the reach of policy and education campaigns that drive informed conversations and effective solutions.
Most recently, she served as a Special Assistant in the Trump administration at the U.S. Department of Education. There, she focused on communications efforts centered on returning education to the states and supporting the discretionary grant portfolio. Previously, she was a Policy Analyst at the America First Policy Institute, where she spearheaded a cross-functional policy campaign spanning education freedom, foster care and workforce development.
Julia holds a B.A. in Political Science and English from Villanova University and also studied Political Thought at the University of Cambridge, U.K., where she completed a dissertation examining capitalism and religion. Currently, she’s an M.S.Ed. candidate at the University of Pennsylvania, where she is focused on empowering families in the age of AI.
A former nationally ranked policy debater, she’s attended debate institutes at Dartmouth, Georgetown and Michigan State. She credits debate with sparking her interest in public affairs.
